Dr. Alireza Haerian Ardekani, an esteemed orthodontist, began his academic and professional journey in Iran. He offers orthodontic care in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.
A proud alumnus of the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Ali graduated from dental school in 2009. He initially honed his skills in general dentistry for two years before pursuing a deeper passion for orthodontics. In 2011, he commenced his specialty training at the same university, culminating in a Master of Science in Orthodontics in 2014. His dedication to the field was further exemplified by successfully completing the National Board Examination of Iranian Specialists in Orthodontics.
Dr. Ali’s expertise extends beyond clinical practice. For six years, he seamlessly blended roles as an orthodontist and a university professor in Iran, contributing significantly to both academia and patient care. He is an expert in braces, Invisalign, interceptive orthodontics for children (two-phase treatment), functional appliances for children, and in orthodontics and jaw surgery for adults as needed.
In 2021, Dr. Ali embarked on a new chapter in Canada. He enrolled in the Orthodontic Dental Specialty Assessment and Training Program at the University of British Columbia (UBC) – a prestigious program designed for internationally trained orthodontists. Only a few orthodontists are admitted. Dr. Ali is a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics in British Columbia and in Canada.
Currently, Dr. Ali also enriches the UBC Dental community as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Orthodontics. His scholarly pursuits are evident in his role as a peer-reviewed author and researcher, with numerous publications in dentistry and orthodontics to his credit.
He is a member of the British Columbia Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists
Away from the clinic, Dr. Ali cherishes time with his family and friends. He is an avid soccer enthusiast and revels in the great outdoors, frequently engaging in activities such as hiking and paddle-boarding.
